Low Cost,High Impact Garden at Hampton Court 2013:"A room with a view"

Low Cost,High Impact Garden at Hampton Court 2013:"A room with a view".

This year we won a gold medal at Hampton court flower show, for our garden ‘A room with a view’ in the Low cost,High impact category.

The garden contained reclaimed oak boards and sleepers,a rusty metal curtain and textural, scented planting in browns, greens, greys and blues. The rebar screen acted like curtains and opened and closed via a system of pulleys, open to reveal an imagined beautiful view,or closed to provide privacy, enclosure and protection from the wind. The steps, deck and chairs were sculpted by a chainsaw sculptor based at the woodland centre near Turners Hill in Sussex. The planting suits a well drained sunny situation. The plants were chosen for their scent, texture and ability to ‘catch the light’ in the morning and evening. The pencil conifers provide height without casting too much shade.
